Newport Mansions Tours December 3-5, 2025

Your tour in Rhode Island will begin with a NEWPORT WINERY TOUR. Enjoy a 20 minute tour led by a wine educator to learn about Newport Vineyards history, winemaking, and a bit about on site brewery Taproot Brewing Co. Then enjoy a tasting of 4 wines at the standing bar.”  Later you will CHECK IN to the hotel before DINNER at a local restaurant.  Day 2. BREAKFAST at your leisure at the hotel. Meet your guide for the NEWPORT MANSIONS DRIVING TOUR of TEN MILE OCEAN DRIVE and along the sea where the most famous of the “American Aristocracy” had built their splendid summer palaces. Bellevue Avenue, which was the backbone of Newport's Golden Age. Here, the Vanderbilts and the top 400 of U.S. society and wealth congregated during the summer months.  “The glitter of gold and the sparkle of silver will dazzle you as you tour three magnificent mansions decked out in Yuletide finery. Music, tours, and spectacular decorations highlight the celebration of Christmas at the Newport Mansions. “The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House--three National Historic Landmarks and icons of the Gilded Age in America--are filled with thousands of poinsettias, fresh flowers, evergreens and wreaths. Decorated trees reflecting individual room decor anchor many of the magnificent spaces. Dining tables set with period silver and china complete the elegant setting. And windows of each mansion are lit with individual white candles, in keeping with the colonial tradition. LUNCH on your own at the BRICK MARKETPLACE. Located between Thames Street and America’s Cup Ave., the marketplace contains over 25 unique shops and places to eat. The marketplace has three rows of buildings where you can find everything your heart desires! Free time in downtown Newport for some shopping and lunch on your own. Note: You can be taken back to the hotel at this time or you can stay and shop in Newport. The Motor Coach will take you back downtown to pick up the others for the Breakers Mansion. “Sparkling Lights at the Breakers: An Outdoor Magical Wonderland”. The display contains more than 40,000 lights, he said, and covers the three acres of The Breakers in the northeast quadrant of the 12-acre property. The holiday stroll is guided by lighting along part of the historic serpentine walk that surrounded the mansion in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The entire pathway is currently being restored, but the lighted section has been completed. Your day will conclude with DINNER at one of Newport’s fine restaurants. 8:00 pm ARRIVE back at your hotel to relax. Day 3. BREAKFAST at your leisure at the hotel. CHECK OUT. TOUR of Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, RI. “Every year, Blithewold transforms into a dazzling display celebrating the magic of Christmas. Each room of the Mansion is filled with elaborate holiday decorations, and the gardens become a glimmering winter wonderland!” SHOPPING TIME at the Blithewold Gift Shop. You will enjoy TEA at Blithewold. “The Dining Room at Blithewold has always been a place where fine meals have been served to cherished guests. Today friends gather and exchange stories while delighting in a cup of tea, freshly baked scones with sweet cream, and a 3- tiered tray filled with sweet and savory treats. Simply luxurious!
